Bay MESPA
MESPA is a local organization founded
to draw speech pathologists together to meet on a regular monthly basis for
the purpose of continuing education and professional growth. Our organization
began in September of 2000. The inaugural meeting was held at Largo Medical Center
with an attendance of 12 Speech Pathologists. We have grown to approximately
80 members in the recent months. MESPA meets on the first Thursday of each
month from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. The meeting site rotates between several
different hospital locations in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. The
topics change each month but the focus is geared to medical speech pathology
issues among pediatric through geriatric populations.
MESPA offers continuing education units for each meeting attended for 1.5 Florida state contact
hours. The annual dues are $45 or a $25 per meeting charge. MESPA attendance
is free of charge to graduate students. Our Fiscal year runs from April
through March.
If you or someone you know is interested in attending a MESPA meeting,
becoming a member, or would like further information regarding MESPA, please
contact one of our executive board members. Refer to Contacts
page for further details.
